Dear Client,
I'm pleased to announce to you the new Printfil 5.33 release.
What's new:
- When printing in GDI mode, you can now merge multiple background images without needing the optional CFG file, and with the additional positioning parameters.
We have added a new tab at Configuration -> Standard -> Images with a grid where you can choose multiple images, their position on the sheet(s), and the pages where they should appear, as described in the manual: How to Merge Logos and other background Image Files
- Revised and enhanced the user interface in the languages: Brazilian, Catalan, Czech, Dutch, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
Should you find the user interface translation in your local language to be inaccurate, please reach out to us so we can enhance it
- When registering Printfil by a PFL file (Printfil License) that contains more than a single license, now you can choose if you want to install just one license (for a workstation) or all of them, as before (for a server, like a
Terminal Server, serving DOS programs via RDP, or an
Application Server, serving DOS programs on a peer-to-peer network).
If the PFL file is imported via the command line with the /SILENT option, all licenses are installed on the machine, like before
- The guided installation of GhostPCL (required when using the PCL print engine) ceased functioning due to recent changes on the official GhostPCL website. Resolved
- Made internal changes to prepare for Windows 12, even though Microsoft has not yet announced the official release date
- Some other minor improvements
If you're currently using a previous 5.x version, the previous license codes are still valid even for the new version.
You just need to download and install the new Printfil setup program (or leave the AutoUpdate program doing it
automatically) without uninstalling the current version first.
If instead you are still using a very old 4.3 version,
purchased up to 23 Apr 2006, the license codes need to be upgraded to the 5.x version.
Simply right-click the Printfil's trayed icon, choose "Search for updates" and the AutoUpdate program will guide you further.
If you've questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to get back to me.
Kind regards,
Andrea Guolo
