How to install, register and configure Printfil automatically with a batch file

If you're a system integrator, after trialing Printfil you may want to deploy it on multiple workstations already registered and configured for your needs, with a single click, without having the different users going through the configuration dialogs.

If those workstations are networked, please see the specific videos about installing Printfil on peer-to-peer networks or installing Printfil on Windows Terminal Servers

This video shows how to automatize deployment on multiple, non-networked machines.

Preparation:

  • We've put some files in a folder
  • The AutoInstall.bat ...
  • ... installs Printfil in C:\AutoInst
  • ... copies a Printfil.ini in C:\AutoInst (the same directory)
  • ... installs the Printfil License File
  • The Printfil.ini can contain only a few custom settings (it doesn't need to be complete)
  • Like the File to check for example

Let's go:

  • Run the batch file
  • Printfil get installed, configured and registered
  • Run Printfil (you can see the license shown at startup)
  • It's already configured like our Printfil.ini
