How do I install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter ?
the Microsoft Loopback Adapter is a virtual network card which is installed as any other real NIC.
- Start -> Control Panel
- double
click on Add Hardware
- Click Next
- Wait for the scan to finish then
select Yes, I have already connected the hardware and click Next
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Add a new hardware device and click Next
- Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and click Next
- Select Network Adapters and click Next
- In the
Manufacturer list, select Microsoft
- in the Network Adapter list, select Microsoft Loopback Adapter
- Click Next twice, then click Finish
Configure the Microsoft Loopback Adapter you've just installed
This virtual
network adapter can be configured the same as a regular network
card.
Configure the adapter to have a static IP address. For example:
IP: 192.168.1.50 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Choose an IP address which is not used by other network connections
(for example the Home/Office network which can be configured on a
laptop)
