Printfil 5.3: Guided Configuration and new PC8 fonts for your DOS/Linux print jobs

we're pleased to announce:

1. Printfil 5.3 has been released

1) Printfil 5.3 has been released

News:

• A new Configuration -> Guided function makes the configuration easier.
• Some new fixed width PC8 fonts are automatically installed with Printfil: aSwIt Mono 437, for printing box drawing characters in Western languages, aSwIt Mono 864, for the Arabic language and aSwIt Mono 866, for the Russian language.
• The Help -> Test function now includes an additional page which show the character set included in the choosen font, in Ansi or OEM conversion.
• A better Help -> Dump: Redo Last Print function makes easier finding out which are the Escape Sequences embedded inside the text by the source application.
• Now you can create PDF files through the "Printfil" virtual printer, even when it's used in pooling with multiple ports.
• The ArchiveRoot entry now accepts even environment variables, like the FileName entry. For example: "[e:HOMEPATH]\archive\" will archive the jobs in the user's specific home directory (wherever it's located on disk) under the archive directory.
• Some other minor improvements.

The upgrade is free for all the Customers who are actually using the 5.x version, by using the same license codes. You just need to download and install the new Printfil setup program (or leave the AutoUpdate program doing it automatically)

If you are still using an old 4.3 version, purchased since 7 Nov 2005 (date of its release), you've right to the free upgrade too, but even your license codes needs to be upgraded (Printfil 5 uses different codes than Printfil 4). The AutoUpdate program will guide you through the updating process and will automatically update all what's needed. If the automatic check has been disabled, simply right-click the Printfil's trayed icon and choose "Search for updates".

If you've purchased previous 4.x licenses, since 2003, you can upgrade them to the newest version simply by purchasing Printfil Upgrade licenses at discounted prices

2) Closing period for vacations from 14 to 27 July.

Our offices will be closed for vacation from 14 to 27 July.

You can purchase your licenses even during the closing period because the ordering system is totally automated.

Support requests received during the closing period will be answered at our return.
