Dear Client,

we're pleased to announce the new Printfil 5.8 release.

What's new:

  • Improved recognition of HP-PCL concatenated sequences and HP printer fonts. If your program makes use of multiple HP fonts inside a single print job, then you can even choose to substitute them with different Windows fonts. For example, a print job designed to be printed in Times New Roman + Courier can be printed by Printfil in Arial + Lucida Console without changes to the source program. A new HP-Complex.Seq entry has been added at Configuration -> Standard -> Escape to enable these new features.

  • Now you can specify multiple recipients when sending a print job via e-mail as a PDF attachment through the "Printfil" virtual printer, even without user intervention, by the optional CFG file.

  • The optional CFG file now can be automatically deleted after Printfil has printed the corresponding TXT. This way an external program sending all the print jobs to a single file or LPT port can create the CFG only for particular jobs (like invoices or statements with special background files merged) and avoid doing it for all the other "standard print jobs".

  • Better alignment of WMF / EMF background files to the textual print jobs when the preview window is enabled/disabled.
  • The Redo Last Print menu option now allows reprinting the last 10 captured print jobs without having to run them again by the source program.
  • Improved user interface in Brazilian language.
  • Some other minor improvements.

The upgrade is free for all the Customers who are actually using the 5.x version, by using the same license codes. You just need to download and install the new Printfil setup program (or leave the AutoUpdate program doing it automatically)

If you are still using an old 4.3 version, purchased since 7 Nov 2005 (date of its release), you've right to the free upgrade too, but even your license codes needs to be upgraded (Printfil 5 uses different codes than Printfil 4). The AutoUpdate program will guide you through the update process and will automatically update all what's needed. If the automatic check has been disabled, simply right-click the Printfil's trayed icon and choose "Search for updates".

If you've purchased previous 4.x licenses from 2003 to 2005, for a limited time only, you can still upgrade them to the newest version simply by purchasing Printfil Upgrade licenses at discounted prices. Don't miss this opportunity! it will expire soon!

For any question, comment or suggestion, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Laura Antona
