Dear
Client,
we're
pleased to announce:
- Printfil
5.5 has been released
- Useful articles on our website
1)
Printfil 5.5 has been released
News:
- Printfil can now capture up to 9 parallel ports (from LPT1: to LPT9:) on any Windows system, including Windows 98.
- A new capturing mode (Mode 0) allows NT-based Windows machines (NT-2000-XP-2003-Vista) fast capturing
a LPT port with ease, without using neither the "Printfil" virtual printer,
nor the Microsoft Networking Services. Capturing from LPT1: to LPT9:
now is as easy as selecting the preferred parallel port in the
Printfil's configuration dialog and clicking OK. No extra steps are
required.
- The Choose (printer)
option now works even when Printfil is setup to print in RAW mode.
This is particularly useful on Terminal Server environments, where a
remote user can choose to print on different dot-matrix printers,
either local or remote.
- When Printfil starts, now it
can automatically delete archived jobs which are older than a
specified number of days. Older archived files will be shown on screen
first, so that the user can choose to delete them or simply close the
window.
- Added the ability to setup the number of copies by escape sequences embedded into the print jobs.
- A new ManCopies option makes
Printfil managing the copies internally instead of through the Windows
printer driver. This option solves a problem with some printer drivers
which don't correctly manage the copies themselves.
- In the Configuration ->
Standard
Printfil's dialog, a new [Options] tab has been added. It contains the
new options above, as well as some previously supported ones, like the
path to archive the print jobs and the number of characters to remove
at the end of the print jobs to avoid extra blank pages.
- Improved the Russian user interface.
- Some
other minor improvements.
The upgrade is free
for all the Customers who are actually using the 5.x version,
by using the same license codes. You just need to download and
install
the new Printfil setup program (or leave the AutoUpdate program doing it
automatically)
If you are still
using an old 4.3 version,
purchased since 7 Nov 2005 (date of its release), you've right to the
free upgrade too, but even your license codes needs to be upgraded
(Printfil 5 uses different codes than Printfil 4). The AutoUpdate
program will guide you through the update process and will
automatically update all what's needed. If the automatic check has been
disabled, simply right-click the Printfil's trayed icon and choose "Search
for updates".
If you've
purchased previous 4.x licenses from 2003 to 2005, for a limited time only, you can still upgrade
them to the
newest version simply by purchasing Printfil
Upgrade licenses at discounted prices. Don't miss this opportunity! it will expire soon!
